3 hours of MX - tick

A great ride at Rogershill Raceway yesterday wracking up 3 hours around the MX track.  I have to say it was real hard work early on as I was riding way too tense, resulting in arm pump, but after about 30 minutes I started to relax a bit and it got easier.  Until the end that is when I started to flag a bit so lots more hard work and training to do.

After riding a Track n Trail enduro practice a week or so back for 3 and half hours at a good pace I have to admit I thought 3 hours around the MX track would be easier, but boy was I wrong and I certainly need to adjust my racing lines and style to give myself a less punishing ride and conserve energy.  I also practised timing myself per lap and trying to keep the same pace.  I do this with the stop watch taped to my cross bar pad, and just choosing a place on the track where I am slow enough each lap to read it.

Anyway loads learnt, and time to step it up both on and off the track

My date with destiny is........ 10th September 2013

So all systems go, all hands to the pump, no backing out now, blah blah blah......  so the date and track is now confirmed for the 24hoursofmx World Record attempt which will be taking part from Midday on September 10th 2013 to midday September the 11th 2013.  Huge amounts of planning, training, and logistics to sort out, one of the biggest things also sorted is the track which is Rogershill Raceway, near Bere Regis in Dorset, so nice and local to me and the Weldmar Hospice who are one of my chosen charities and many of the people who have already pledged their support. The other charity we will be supporting is Wings for Life which is a tremendous charity which funds and undertakes Spinal Chord injury research.

The guys at Rogershill are awesome and I would like to thank Danny and Danielle Hall big time for all of their support so far.  Any one who knows the team at Rogershill will tell you how friendly everyone is there and we sure are lucky to have such a great MX and Enduro practice facility there, and hopefully a World Record Breaking track as well.
